Job Responsibilities
- Leads and manages members of the inside sales team, overseeing order processing, quoting, and customer support for utility poles, piling, and infrastructure solutions.
- Ensures seamless coordination between sales, operations, and logistics to drive efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Develops processes to improve response times, accuracy, and sales support functions.
- Provides coaching and performance management for inside sales staff.
- Supports regional and export sales teams with pricing, contracts, and transactional sales.
- Responsible for inside sales performance, process optimization, and contributing to overall revenue.
- Works closely with sales teams to provide general administrative sales support to ensure accurate pricing, supports contract terms, and assists customers with pre-sale inquiries in addition to order fulfillment.
- Responsible for managing customer purchase orders and entering orders on the appropriate location. Attention to detail is a must on order entry.
- Assist with managing customer transactions.
- Coordinate the purchase orders with plant locations, reload yards, procurement, and logistics so that customer due dates are satisfied.
- Prepares and provides quotes based on pricing guidelines to maximize profit for the division with help from sales manager if needed.
- Must comply with Sox standards for accurate documentation.
- Responsible for handling telephone inquiries from customers.
- Provide superior customer service by anticipating customer needs and provide proactive solutions.
- Provide monthly reconciliation of reload yard inventory to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Assist in coverage while other inside sales representatives are out of the office.
- Follow procedures established by Koppers Credit and Finance Departments
- Complete occasional visits to a plant to assist in physical inventories and training.
- Occasional travel with sales manager to visit customers.
- Provide support of customer restoration efforts during storms/emergencies by entering orders and assisting in the restoration which will require on occasion to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
- High School diploma required; bachelor's degree in Sales/Marketing or related preferred
- 5 plus years of experience in customer service or inside sales
- Ability to prepare detailed and complex reports utilizing prescribed procedures is required of this position.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic understanding of price development, costs and margin analysis
- Ability to analyze, read, and write general business reports
- Basic knowledge of financial reports
- Strong team player
- Must have high attention to detail
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Products
- For remote position - must have reliable Wi-Fi
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- Candidate must be a self -starter with the ability to work independently.
- An ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers
- Must possess a strong entrepreneurial drive, track record of initiative, personal responsibility, and ownership of work to meet monthly, quarterly and annual financial goals in a high growth organization.
- Must possess excellent presentation, writing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to create and deliver convincing arguments covering a broad range of complex issues.
- Willingness to travel 10-15%
