Job Description:
Airbus is looking for an Aircraft Receiving Quality Inspector to join our A220 team in Mobile, AL.
You will be part of the team responsible for the execution and confirmation of quality inspections as part of the production process with an emphasis on incoming parts, assemblies, cabin components and tooling. You will also be managing the MRB requirements for discrepant aircraft parts. Meet the Team: The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities help assemble the finest aircraft in the world, along with two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family aircraft. On the shop floor you'll be surrounded by individuals who are passionate about aviation and skilled in areas like electrical, structure and quality. Join our team and help build the next generation of aircraft. Your working environment: On 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus' strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond. Your challenges: Primary Responsibilities [Incoming Inspection]: 50%
Execute technical inspections in the production process of the aircraft in the context ofthe authorization of manufacturer operation Document the technical inspections performed in SAP and relevant SAL-based IT systems. Support all other relevant aircraft documentation production and verification. Support troubleshooting and participate in Quality Survey requests. Verify documentation for parts delivered to vendor and process corresponding inspection in SAP.
[Non-conformance Management]: 30%
Compile all technical data of non-conformance in order to launch the SAP-based quality discrepancy sheets for the professional assessment in accordance with the manufacturing engineering documentation. Manage all parts removed from aircraft based on non conformance declaration. Process repair parts returning to vendor
[Aircraft Documentation Production]: 10%
Additional Responsibilities: 10%
Contribution to Quality Department initiatives TFIX tool inspection Coordination between Daher Storekeepers, Logistics, multiple Quality departments, Inventory management team and others. Execute Quality operations pertaining to scrapping of noncompliant material.
Your boarding pass: Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant license is preferred but not required.
Experience:
- 3 years manufacturing, quality control or logistical experience within aviation.
- Experience with SAP and relevant SAL based IT systems
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:
Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination. Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and tools used in the production line. Handling and use of inspection tools of the length measuring techniques (mechanical, optional, electrical).
Physical Requirements:
Onsite or remote: 100% onsite Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings; Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals. Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification. Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and arms. Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects. Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg. Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas and on the shop floor. Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings. Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves. Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information. Travel/Mobility: able to travel overseas and domestically Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor or outdoor surfaces other business interactions Space Limitations: Working on jigs at the fuselage at heights of 15'. Able to work in confined spaces & with respirator.
