Position Summary

The Supervisor, Final Operations is responsible for leading the packout team to ensure the safe, accurate, and timely preparation of military, law enforcement, commercial weapons and spare parts. This includes overseeing all final cleaning, preservation, and packaging processes to meet strict customer and regulatory requirements, while ensuring accurate documentation and recordkeeping. The position drives continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements, equipment or facility upgrades, and safety measures.

Job Duties

  • Achieves successful delivery of all finished goods by developing a daily plan for the Final Operations team based on flow from assembly and manufacturing cells.
  • Maximizes use of four packing lines to assure all products are accurately packed to customers and FN America standards.
  • Reviews commercial and military contracts for packing and shipping.
  • Programs and coordinates specification requirements with product line planners.
  • Coordinates daily final operations workload and assigns team to execute a daily plan.
  • Ensures that all weapon breakdown, cleaning and preserving activities follow standard work and achieve desired results.
  • Assists in troubleshooting issues regarding weapons cleaning, inspection, and packaging.
  • Ensures current tools, equipment, and software are maintained and correlated based on set standards.
  • Supports daily plant production meetings to ensure that Final Operations contribute to maintaining flow.
  • Completes daily inspections of the assigned area and maintains all daily inspection sheets.
  • Evaluates processes to find opportunities to improve.
  • Leads and mentors a high-performing team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Plans for staffing needs and changes based on demand schedule.
  • Ensures all direct reports complete required training and physical evaluations that are pertinent to their job.
  • Maintains a high-level commitment to safety to ensure a workplace free of recognized hazards according to local, state, and federal regulations and general best practices.
  • Serves as SAP Business Process Owner (BPO) for Final Operations team.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business or engineering related degree is preferred. High school diploma or GED required.

Experience Requirements

Minimum three years of experience working in a shipping and receiving environment is required. Experience working with military and commercial procedures and contracts is preferred along with previous supervisory experience.

Microsoft Office tools, ERP/SAP system.

Licenses/Certifications

First Responder/First Aid Certification is preferred.

Working Conditions

Typical manufacturing environment with some travel between buildings and to other locations required. May be exposed to loud noises, toxic chemicals, and dangerous machinery and firearms when on the plant floor or on the range.

Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds unassisted and up to 50 pounds assisted.
