Join our team as a Gas Accounting Analyst and play an important role in tracking and reporting the financial side of natural gas movement through our pipelines and storage systems. It's the perfect opportunity for a new grad to develop technical skills and gain exposure to the energy industry.

What you will do:

  • Prepare, review, and approve monthly journal entries related to gas processing, storage and pipeline imbalances, fuel inventory, and fuel over/under recovery based on various FERC tracking mechanisms.*
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly actual / budget / forecast variance analysis.
  • Prepare pipeline and storage trackers.
  • Prepare account reconciliations.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual FERC Form 3 and Form 2 filings.
  • Prepare annual EIA-176.
  • Prepare annual regulatory tracker filings.
  • Interface with internal and external auditors on quarterly and year-end audits.
  • Understand fundamentals of US GAAP, Reporting Standards, and Financial Controls.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls and related reporting requirements.
  • Work on ad hoc assignments as assigned.

Who you are:

Required:

  • Bachelor degree required in Accounting.
  • Prior Enbridge Accounting/Finance internship experience
  • Computer proficiency working with applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of employees and management.
  • Proactive self-starter with the proven ability to work independently as well as with others in a group setting.

Preferred:

* CPA preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
