Job Summary
The Sewing Operator plays a key role in the apparel development and innovation process by constructing garments accurately according to provided patterns, tech packs, and measurement sheets. This position involves sewing high-quality prototypes across a range of garment types, including denim and non-denim products. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled, detail-oriented technician with a strong understanding of garment construction techniques, quality standards, and production timelines. Job Responsibilities
Sew garments accurately following provided patterns, tech packs, and measurement sheets
Ensure garments meet quality standards for measurement accuracy, seam alignment, and construction details
Operate various industrial sewing machines (single needle, double needle, overlock, bar-tack, etc.) safely and efficiently
Cut fabrics and patterns as needed for prototype and sample creation
Work with a variety of materials, including denim, twill, knits, woven, and non-woven fabrics
Inspect garments during and after sewing to ensure compliance with specifications and identify any defects
Follow established development timelines to meet daily and weekly production targets
Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding any technical issues, discrepancies, or challenges
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Adhere to all workplace safety guidelines and standard operating procedures
Job Requirements
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience as a sewing operator in garment manufacturing (denim experience preferred)
Proficiency with industrial sewing machines and garment construction techniques
Ability to read, interpret, and execute instructions from tech packs, patterns, and measurement sheets
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment
Basic knowledge of workplace safety practices
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for extended periods while operating sewing machines
Capability to lift fabric rolls or bundles weighing up to 25 pounds
Good vision and focus for working with intricate garment details
