How you will make history here...

The Manager, Responsible Sourcing will manage the development and implementation of supplier-related corporate responsibility programs. This role will primarily focus on the implementation of the company's Responsible Sourcing efforts and tie them to business objectives. The role requires leadership, analytical and project management skills to effectively analyze responsible sourcing and risk management strategies and to integrate companywide initiatives. Strong interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills are also necessary to proactively engage with stakeholders including cross-functional Company leaders, suppliers, customers and non-government organizations (NGOs).

What you will do...

The ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently, as well as in a team environment. This position will report to the Vice President of Procurement (Ingredients) with a dotted line to the Chief Sustainability Officer and will assist with the development and implementation of tools to manage risk around responsible sourcing for the supply base. This role also has shared oversight of the Sr Analyst, Strategic and Responsible Sourcing.

Program Management (70%)

  • Mitigate supply chain risk by developing strategies and implementing a global Responsible Sourcing program for Campbell's suppliers. Ensure Responsible Sourcing standards are integrated into sourcing process, including RFPs.
  • Own the strategic plans for Animal Welfare and Humans Rights for the enterprise ESG strategy, including updates and report outs to Campbell Leadership Team and Board Governance committee.
  • Engage suppliers in the Responsible Sourcing program, ensuring compliance with the Responsible Sourcing Supplier Code and disclosure of raw material sourcing locations. Develop a forward-looking supplier auditing plan and manage supplier audits including corrective action plans.
  • Partner with buyers and brands to implement transitions for ingredient-specific commitments (i.e., cage-free eggs, crate-free pork, broiler chicken).
  • Ensure customer, consumer, investor, Board, and other stakeholder requirements and expectations related to responsible sourcing and our suppliers are met through reporting (i.e. investor & customer surveys and the CSR Report), policy management and audit management.

Reporting (20%)

  • Measure, track and report progress against our Responsible Sourcing commitments as well as Campbell's other CSR commitments that directly impact the supply base.
  • Support membership in Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) to ensure Campbell remains in good standing. Ensure all acquired businesses who purchase palm oil are integrated into RSPO program.
  • In conjunction with Supplier Relationship Management, measure and monitor supplier performance from responsible sourcing perspectives.
  • Partner with the Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability team to effectively communicate supplier-related initiatives to internal and external stakeholders, including the annual Corporate Responsibility Report, Investor surveys and relevant content on the Campbell's corporate website.

Issue Management & Communications (10%)

  • Monitor and report on emerging supply related sustainability trends, programs and issues to key stakeholders, including Global Procurement, R&D and Marketing.
  • Provide Buyers and Category Managers with timely internal and external intelligence around responsible sourcing risk factors that will help drive sourcing strategies.
  • Communicate and engage with various stakeholders (customers, employees, suppliers, consumers, activists, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), etc.) related to inquiries and requests for information specific to Campbell's supply base.
  • Partner on cross-functional business initiatives to promote traceability and transparency of our ingredients, meeting the increased demands of customers, consumers, investors and other external stakeholders.
  • Identify and effectively integrate new risk assessment methods and tools for Campbell's buyers to segment suppliers and identify risks across Campbell brands.

This role requires a technical knowledge of industry standards related to responsible sourcing, including risk mitigation strategies, audit standards and regulatory requirements related to human rights and other social standards. This individual must have the ability to thrive in a highly ambiguous environment, possess the desire and curiosity to understand emerging trends and competitive activity in the sustainability space, demonstrate business savvy along with strong communication skills and must have excellent leadership skills.

What you will bring to the table... (Must Have)

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 3+ years of experience within Procurement, Sustainability, or Supply Chain

It would be great if you have... (Nice to Have)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or other related field
  • 5+ years of experience within Procurement, Sustainability, or Supply Chain
  • Experience with Social Compliance Audits
  • CPG food experience including knowledge of food system issues including social / environmental impacts
  • Familiarity with Corporate Responsibility, Carbon Disclosure Project, and other related communication and reporting preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$110,700-$159,200

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
