Content Engineer : Mid-level Product & Design Team This is a 12-month, full-time (40 hours/week), remote contract role based in Cupertino, CA (local candidates only). Summary We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Content Engineer to join a dynamic and fast-paced content operations team. In this role, you will support the delivery and quality of content systems by managing and verifying metadata, maintaining high standards for data accuracy and consistency, and contributing to efficient version control and release processes. Our Ideal Candidate 5+ years of experience in content engineering, data management, or a related technical field Passion for content systems and digital media workflows, with a strong foundation in metadata management and automation Proficient in Python and Git, with excellent understanding of data validation and version control Familiar with automated workflows, QA testing, and content integration processes Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional engineering and operations teams Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities and fast-changing project timelines Strong written and verbal communication with exceptional attention to detail Proactive, curious, and driven to continuously improve accuracy and process efficiency Job Description In this role, you will update and manage metadata using internal tools, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established content standards. You'll partner closely with engineering and content operations teams to maintain metadata integrity, verify accuracy through unit tests in Python, and manage version control through Git commits. This includes: Updating and validating metadata within internal systems Writing and maintaining Python-based unit tests to ensure data accuracy Performing Git commits and managing version control for metadata updates Supporting automated generation of content bundles that merge metadata and assets Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve data workflows and QA processes You will also help maintain internal tools, scripts, and processes, supporting the overall efficiency, scalability, and quality of the content delivery pipeline. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience Background in content operations, digital media, or software development preferred Experience with Python scripting, Git version control, and QA automation Additional Requirements This is a remote opportunity and requires candidates to be local to the Cupertino,CA area for potential on-site needs Pay rate: $71.88 per hour (W-2) This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting tenure and hours requirements Mathys+Potestio values applicants of all backgrounds and experiences.
