Job Description

Senior SDET - Quality Engineering, RBC Capital Markets, LLC, Minneapolis, MN:

Provide support to Quality Engineering (QE) Manager on estimation and work allocation for the team acting as a release lead in full capacity. Support overall quality engineering strategy. Accountable to provide subject matter expertise and leadership on test case architecture and design. Support leadership in the execution of operational frameworks, processes and tools, and utilization of organizational change management practices to drive, support, and empower staff in assigned unit. Provide recommendations and contribute to solutions in area of expertise including leading QE workstreams. Support the implementation of QE Programs through optimized test case architecture and automation in portfolio. Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members, stakeholders and business partners using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close. Automating test cases using RBC recommended automation framework, as per acceptance criteria, executing test cases manually and/or running the automated test scripts. Potential to coordinate QE tasks and deliverables with vendor partner staff located in offshore locations. Mentor and train new team-members onboarded to the team on the application architecture, flows and domain.

Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, $124,883 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 8 years of work experience, of which 5 years must be progressive, post baccalaureate work experience.

Must have 7 years of experience in QE processes, methodologies, and Test Design techniques to ensure effective testing and software quality through structured activities.

Must have 5 years of experience in:

* Test Management tools such as JIRA, qTest, and Quality Center for planning testing activities, storing testing methodologies, and reporting on the status of quality engineering initiatives.

* Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and Defect Management processes to ensure software quality and effective application support.

* Iterative Waterfall and Agile Project methodologies, enabling adaptive development through continuous feedback and iterative cycles.

* Various test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., SoapUI, Selenium, Appium, UFT, RestAssured, Robot Framework, TestNG) and in script development using languages such as Perl, Python, and Bash.

* Industry practices centered on Agile and DevOps environments, focusing on test integration to optimize development processes and lifecycle efficiency.

* Testing KPIs and other QE metrics to measure and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the software testing process.

Must have 4 years of experience in Test Automation tools (Selenium and JAVA) to execute automated tests for assessing software functionality and performance.

Must have 3 years of experience in:

* Test Databases (SQL, Oracle, and DB2) for comprehensive testing across user interface, business, and data access layers.

* QE test environments for technical automated testing across various platforms, including cloud, distributed systems, mainframes, business workflows, services/APIs, and databases.

The base salary for this job is $124,883 per year. This salary does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
