RK&K is seeking an accomplished Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the firm's technology strategy and digital transformation initiatives across our multi-office, employee-owned engineering organization. This is a high-impact executive role for a forward-thinking leader who can align technology innovation with business strategy to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and client service. This position will sit in the Baltimore, MD office. Essential Functions
- Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with RK&K's business goals and long-term growth plans.
- Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities for digital transformation, automation, and AI-driven efficiencies.
- Oversee the modernization of legacy systems, ensuring scalable, secure, and sustainable architecture.
- Direct the planning, implementation, and management of enterprise IT systems, networks, and applications.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of all critical business systems across offices and field operations.
- Oversee vendor management, IT procurement, and technology partnerships.
- Lead the organization's cybersecurity strategy, including risk management, incident response, and regulatory compliance.
- Establish data governance policies that ensure data integrity, privacy, and accessibility.
- Implement and maintain systems that safeguard company and client data.
- Champion technology adoption across all business units, promoting collaboration, automation, and innovation.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, such as AI, data analytics, and cloud computing to enhance business operations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and digital literacy throughout the organization.
- Lead and develop a high-performing IT team capable of supporting a complex, multi-office environment.
- Manage IT budgets, resource allocation, and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with department leaders to ensure IT initiatives support operational and client service objectives.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
- 10-15 years of progressive IT leadership experience
- 5+ years in an executive or senior management role.
- Proven track record in IT strategic planning, digital transformation, and enterprise systems management.
- Experience in professional services, engineering, or construction industry environments preferred.
