The Division of Infectious Diseases is seeking a candidate for the Assistant Professor position. Expertise is required in the specific area of virology and host pathogen interactions. Applicants must have a Ph.D degree. Research and scholarship responsibilities will include the establishment of an independent, extramurally funded research program. The positions include a competitive salary and high-quality laboratory space. Our community offers an intellectually diverse environment with state-of-the-art core facilities. The Division of Infectious Diseases and Anschutz Medical Campus comprise a large, interactive community of outstanding scientists investigating infectious diseases, microbial biology and immunology. Key Responsibilities:
- Establish a rigorous research program focused on molecular virology of HIV-1, virus-host interactions and antiretroviral therapies.
- Publish new findings in top tier peer-reviewed journals.
- Obtain research grants to support the independent research program.
- Supervise the research group members including postdoctoral researchers, graduate students and professional research assistants.

Qualifications: |
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Education: PhD in life sciences.
- Experience: extensive (>5 years) postdoctoral experience in virology with a solid publication record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Writing manuscripts and research grant proposals.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills.
- The candidate must have a good general knowledge of virology and be well-organized and capable of working both independently and as a member of a research team.
- The successful candidate is expected to develop an independent, vigorous research program and obtain extramural research funding to support her/his own research group.

Anticipated Pay Range: |
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: $75,000 to $105,000 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
