SharePoint Developer
Summary
Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Developer / Administrator to support the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at headquarters in Kings Point, New York.
Job Responsibilities
The remote position responsibilities include maintaining existing Content Management Systems, websites that include intranet and internet applications. Internal and external facing custom websites, website graphics, narrative content, site and page structure reflecting Web 2+ standards for XHTML, JavaScript, and cascading style sheet (CSS). All web sites shall comply with Federal 508 compliance accessibility standards, transmit and receive personal identification information using SSL, and support the most recent versions of web browsers. Where possible, web pages should display and properly operate on personal computers and other devices equipped with web browsers.
This position is approximately 50% SharePoint Online management, 50% web development.
Skills Required
The successful candidate will combine strong hands-on development in SharePoint Online, PowerApps, ASP.NET/.NET Core, Web Forms, MVC, Razor pages, JavaScript, Azure Devops, Git version control.
Must be able to administer and implement technical solutions that leverage SharePoint Online. Strong experience MS SQL, ASP.NET/.NET CORE, thinking out of the box to resolve technical issues and troubleshooting skills is a plus.
  • 3+ years of SharePoint site, master pages, layouts, templates, web parts, content types, workflows, branding, navigation, designing applications
  • 4+ years of designing and implementing Web pages and web-based applications
  • Familiar in utilizing NIST, FISMA and Section 508 compliance
  • Working experience with IIS and Apache, web analytics
  • Primary responsibilities will include actively advising and participating in the architecture and hands-on development of applications using the Power Platform.
  • Skilled at building custom Workflows in Power Automate, responsive and intelligent apps using Power Apps, and ability to generate advanced reports and dashboards within Power BI.
  • Administer SharePoint Online sites, libraries, permissions, and user access.
  • Experience with various Content Management Systems
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly and accurately translate user requirements into technical deliverables with minimal oversight from product managers and limited documentation of business requirements and functional specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide tier-2 support in a professional manner
  • Thorough, efficient and detail-oriented, takes initiative and is self-directed.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication; written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Team player; willing and able to drive collaborative efforts across the organization to improve product quality, reduce expense, and increase productivity

Skills Preferred

  • Clearable for Public Trust
  • Four-year degree in Computer Science or related field required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PMI and Agile
  • Working experience in a government environment
