RTI Health Solutions (RTIHS) is an independent and internationally recognized research organization. We provide healthcare consulting and research expertise to optimize decisionmaking for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device products across the development and marketing life cycle. Clients rely on our expertise, quality standards, and integrity to guide their product development and regulatory and market access strategies. Our service groupings include Value, Access, and HEOR; PatientCentered and Outcomes Research; Epidemiology and Biostatistics; Medical Communications; Global Business Operations; and Strategic Consulting and Growth. We are currently seeking a Director, Technology & AI Automation to serve as a client-facing leader and strategic advisor, helping global life science companies harness the power of data, AI, and automation to transform evidence generation and insights decision-making.


What You'll Do

In this highly visible role, you'll partner directly with clients and our researchers to assess opportunities, design innovative solutions, and deliver AI-enabled offerings that advance scientific research and commercial strategy. You'll bridge the worlds of technology and science, turning RTI-HS's research expertise into digital tools and insights that improve speed, precision, and impact for sponsors and regulators.

What You'll Do

  • Lead client engagements focused on AI, data automation, and digital transformation, translating scientific and operational challenges into actionable, technology-driven solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted consultant in proposals, client meetings, and workshops, helping partners define vision, scope, and pathways to adoption.
  • Develop and commercialize digital offerings (analytics accelerators, evidence platforms, workflow automation) that extend RTI-HS's market leadership and scientific value.
  • Collaborate across disciplines, HEOR, RWE, Epidemiology, Patient Reported Outcomes, and Medical Communications to embed AI into study design, data integration, modeling, and communication.
  • Represent RTI-HS in the market as a thought leader, sharing perspectives at conferences, webinars, and publications on the practical application of AI in life sciences.
  • Build relationships with key ecosystem partners (AI platforms and tools, data partners, and cloud providers) to strengthen our client offerings and delivery model.
  • Provide hands-on guidance to technical and analytical teams ensuring delivery quality, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues on digital strategy and the responsible use of emerging technologies in health research.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in technology-enabled consulting, AI strategy, or data-driven solution delivery within life sciences or health technology sectors.
  • Demonstrated success translating AI and automation concepts into client-ready deliverables and scalable products.
  • Strong track record of external engagement, presenting, publishing, or advising clients on digital transformation initiatives.
  • Proven ability to work across cloud and AI ecosystems (Azure, AWS, GCP; Veeva; IQVIA OCE; Aetion; ConcertAI)
  • Deep understanding of real-world data, HEOR, medical strategy, and regulatory workflows, and how digital tools can enhance them.
  • Business acumen in pricing, packaging, and commercialization of digital or AI-enabled services.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and influence skills across scientific, technical, and executive audiences.
  • Familiarity with data privacy and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, 21 CFR Part 11).

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below. Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by location as a geographic differential may be applied to some locations within the United States. RTI considers multiple factors when making an offer including, for example: established salary range, internal budget, business needs, and education and years of work experience possessed by the applicant. Further, salary is merely one element to our offer.
