Apply Now > Save Job Job Saved Job Title: CNC Machine Operator 2 Exempt or Non-exempt: Non-exempt POSITION SUMMARY Detail CNC Machince Operator will be required to perform tasks related to program editing, set-up, operation, trouble-shooting and preventive maintenance for CNC machines, custom process machines and production support equipment. The successful candidate must be able to accurately read manufacturing prints, machine drawings and operator's manuals, adjust tooling and process parameters, interpret programs and interact with outside service technicians to solve problems. Additionally, the candidate must be able to operate material handling equipment, use a variety of measuring equipment, and perform other miscellaneous tasks. Must be experienced in operating and setup of a variety of CNC machines and other processing equipment. The candidate must possess detailed reading comprehension and intermediate mathematical skills to accomplish the job requirements. Will be subjected to dust, filings, chips, heat, and noise in the normal performance of their duties. The use of PPE is stipulated. Afternoon shift position with a core workweek of Monday through Friday from 12 noon - 8:30 pm. Overtime is voluntary when available. JOB CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operation of 3 axis vertical mills - Ensure correct fixturing is used per TWID. - Load NC programs, adjust offset tables, maintain and replace cutting tools, conduct FAIs. - Electronically document in-process data to maintain QA and production system requirements. - Measure, and record QA data; dimensions, serial numbers, etc. - Perform measuring equipment calibration checks.
- Operation of horizontal mills - Ensure correct fixturing is used per TWID. - Load NC programs, adjust offset tables, maintain and replace cutting tools, conduct FAIs. - Electronically document in-process data to maintain QA and production system requirements. - Measure, and record QA data; dimensions, serial numbers, etc. - Perform measuring equipment calibration checks.
- Operate material handling equipment including hoists, cranes, tow motors, etc. - Abilty to read and understand detailed prints and work instructions. - Knowledge of indicators, micrometers, and calipers to accurately sweep in fixturing. - Knowledge of Fanuc/Seimens controls
- Use calipers, depth gages, micrometers, and fabricated gaging equipment. - Utilize tool setting equipment - Utilize computers. Access, and use, control and data collection software. - Track orders. Maintain traceability. Move material to enable the production process to flow efficiently and effectively. - Communicate well with other associates, supervision engineering, and management. - Work in teams for daily production and improvement opportunities. - Experienced associates assist in training new recruits. - 6S & Housekeeping duties to maintain a safe, clean efficient work environment. - Duties often require; standing for extended periods of time, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing of heavily laden carts. QUALIFICATIONS Education: A high school diploma or GED is required. Prefer an associate's degree or equivalent experience and training. Years Experience: 1 year of manufacturing experience required.
