SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

PAY FREQUENCY: Weekly Pay

SALARY: Starting at $17.25

JOB SUMMARY

The Sewing Apprentice plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process by assisting in the production of goods according to established standards and procedures. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions accurately, and a commitment to maintaining quality and efficiency in the production environment. This role is designed to be an introductory role to efficiently sewing Children's Factory products and therefore is expected to graduate into a Machine Operator, Sewing within six months.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with industrial sewing machines is highly desirable.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES



  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

    • Proficiency in department specific roles, tasks and processes.


    • - Sewing efficiency is required to continuously improve up to a minimum of 75%.


  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, such as sewing patterns, sew notes and other specifications.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities as needed.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and protocols in a manufacturing setting is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain consistent attendance, arriving on time and prepared for all shifts, meetings, and appointments.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES, EXPECTATIONS, AND BEHAVIORS include, but are not limited to, the following:



  • Operate industrial sewing machines to sew fabric pieces together according to provided instructions and specifications.
  • Efficiency and skills excellence across a minimum of four consecutive weeks will result in graduation into a Machine Operator: Sewing.
  • Change sewing needles and thread efficiently.
  • Perform routine maintenance on sewing machines, such as cleaning and oiling, to ensure proper function.
  • Operate additional machinery and equipment under supervision, following safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, quality, and attendance.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform the following activities:



  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Bending, stooping, and reaching to handle materials and operate equipment.
  • Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity for handling small parts and operating machinery.
  • Visual acuity for inspecting products and reading written instructions or labels.


Work Environment:

The Production team primarily works in a fast-paced manufacturing or production facility. The working environment may involve exposure to loud noises, moving machinery, and various production materials. The role may require standing for extended periods and lifting or moving objects weighing up to a certain weight limit. Safety is our top priority, and all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided to ensure a safe working environment.
