As a Quality Engineer within IT CX Billing & Self-Service on the Digital Billing Transformation - Zero Defect Invoicing team you will own Quality Throughout the Development Lifecycle and be a champion for quality from start to finish. You'll integrate seamlessly into our digital billing transformation team, ensuring stakeholder confidence and satisfaction with the IT solutions we deliver. Why this role matters This position is part of a newly expanded Digital Billing Transformation - Zero Defect Invoicing team, fully dedicated to achieving zero defect billing-a strategic priority for the organization. By integrating technical expertise with business acumen, the Quality Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our operational excellence. Location: You must be a reasonable driving distance from our World Campus in Westbrook, Maine. Hybrid: Minimum of 8 on-site days per month In this role.... Your key focus will include:
- Proactive Quality Assurance: You'll build quality into every phase of product development, identifying and implementing improvements throughout the lifecycle.
- Automation Champion: Partnering with other software engineers, you'll help build robust automation frameworks and infrastructure. By automating testing at all levels (end-to-end, integration, API), you'll ensure the scalability and high quality of our products.
- Continuous Monitoring and Improvement: You'll conduct ongoing quality checks throughout the software lifecycle, reporting findings and collaborating with developers to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. This focus on continuous improvement will enhance system reliability, performance, and overall quality.
- Actively Participate in analysis and grooming to draw out unclear or missed requirements
- Partner with Development Team to ensure adequate unit testing
- Define and design scalable standardization around test strategy, planning, data management, test case design, regression frameworks, and automation
- Develop and run automation regression with builds
- Advocate for process improvements supporting a high-quality delivery such as best practices in collaboration, feature grooming, story writing, estimation, and swarming
- Establish and maintain relationships with our Product Owners, workstream leads, and their leadership to understand how our systems are used, pain points, what is needed to best support usability to target a test approach beyond technical functionality.
- Understand current state and verify that changes and updates do not adversely affect performance or quality.
- Communicate test findings and defects during each phase of testing for resolution
- Review production defects for prioritization, root cause analysis, and resolution
- Report on quality throughout the development lifecycle:
- At project start - Test plan
- At the story level - Test cases and logging issues
- At the feature level - Regression test results
- At the product level - End to End automation and manually executed scenarios results
What You Will Need to Succeed:
- 2-3+ years' experience as a Quality Engineer
- Experience testing/using SAP
- Passion for leading with quality while thriving in a fast-paced environment
- Highly collaborative and agile
- Solid communication skills - articulate complex concepts with simple language
- Ability to define test strategies and design a test plan based on project plan
- Familiarity with building and maintaining code repositories
- Experience with testing tools & frameworks, such as Tosca, Selenium, SoapUI/ReadyAPI, Postman, Oracle, Cucumber, etc...
