OSI Optoelectronics is currently seeking a Senior Director, Wafer Fabrication Manufacturing Production. This individual will hold a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of wafer fabrication operations, with a focus on maximizing efficiency, maintaining rigorous quality and safety standards, and driving productivity. They will manage a team of production operators, engineers and a wafer fabrication manager, ensuring that manufacturing processes meet the highest industry benchmarks. Additionally, they will champion innovation in process development and talent cultivation while collaborating with global foundries to deliver high-volume, leading-edge semiconductor based optoelectronic products.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of mechanical engineers and a wafer fabrication manager to achieve operational excellence and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Oversee all wafer fabrication manufacturing activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, regulatory standards, and company policies.
- Drive manufacturing efficiency and productivity through the implementation of best practices in process optimization, cost containment, and waste reduction.
- Champion employee training and development programs to maintain a highly skilled workforce and promote professional growth.
- Ensure strict adherence to AS9100 standards and other relevant quality compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with global foundries to coordinate and optimize high-volume silicon production, specifically for advanced photodiode detector products.
- Lead efforts to introduce and implement process development methodologies, such as Design of Experiments (DOEs), and utilize statistical analysis tools for process control and failure prediction.
- Identify root causes of manufacturing issues in high-volume product lines and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring problems.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on production status, process improvements, and compliance metrics.
- Work closely and collaborate with Sr. Director of Wafer Fab Engineering.

Qualifications
Required Experience and Skills
- Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in wafer fabrication and semiconductor engineering and manufacturing.
- 5 years of progressive experience in wafer fabrication, semiconductor manufacturing, or a related industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Technical Expertise
- Demonstrated experience in the manufacturing of Silicon Semiconductor Photodiodes (X-ray, UV, Visible, and 1064nmYAG) Detectors and GaAs/InGaAs Photodiode Detectors (visible, NIR, and extended wavelength).
- Proven ability to develop and refine test processes that streamline test/burn-in sequences, reduce touch time, and minimize handling damage.
- In-depth knowledge of process development methodologies, including DOEs and statistical analysis tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Weibull Regression Analysis.
- Track record of identifying and eliminating root causes of failure in high-volume semiconductor product lines to improve yield and reliability.

- Directly manage and support the professional development of mechanical engineers and a wafer fab manager.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and high performance.
