The Opportunity: Avantor is seeking an experienced electro-mechanical production assembler for the Barrington, IL location.

The Sr. Assembly Associate who has shown the capability, flexibility and willingness to learn and successfully be cross trained in all assigned production areas. Ability to read blueprints, bills of material and calibration specs along with the mechanical aptitude to accurately build and test product with little or no direction from Assembly Leads. Ability and willingness to help train other Assemblers. Highly dependable in the areas of attendance, quality and work pace. Able to fill in as Lead Assembler as required.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in an electro-mechanical production assembly environment
  • High School education or equivalent
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently or in a group setting with minimal direction and supervision
  • Skilled in soldering, blueprint reading and functional comprehension of test and calibration specs
  • Ability to productively interact with other departments including engineering, warehouse associates and quality control
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. with assistance
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, efficiently works under pressures, within deadlines or other time essential constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly and concisely communicate to all levels of the organization.
  • Strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Ability to read blueprints, bills of materials and calibration specs in order to build products with little or no direction from Lead Assemblers.

  • Ability and willingness to rotate and work in different work cells

  • Ability and willingness to help train new Assemblers on all assigned production lines

  • Familiar with plant safety concepts and able to identify potential safety concerns

  • Dependable in areas of attendance, quality and work pace

  • Ability to fill in for Lead Assemblers as required

  • Perform light material handling work when required

  • Performs other duties as required

    Pay Transparency:

    The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

    $43,700.00 - $72,800.00

    Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
