Thanks to our amazing partners, donors, and incredible community members, we have been making waves in Minneapolis, serving over a thousand families since 2007.

Founded as a non-profit in 2007, the mission of V3 Sports mission is to elevate our community through wellness, fitness and education. In 2024, V3 Sports opened Phase One of the V3 Center, a 40,000 square foot health and wellness center that will grow to be a North Minneapolis community asset and a regional destination. The focus of Phase One is to provide a place for Northside residents of all ages to access water, state-of-the-art fitness equipment, physical rehabilitation and enjoy healthy and delicious food offerings. Phase Two, which V3 Sports is actively fundraising for, will be a regional destination for sporting events, career fairs, community events, and other drivers of economic stability. At the V3 Center, Northside young people and families will access programming that supports their career and economic aspirations and builds the skills they need to make their dreams reality.

Wages and Benefits

$70,000 annual salary; Generous paid time off (PTO), plus 11 paid holidays and 2 floating holidays; competitive health, dental, and vision insurance. There is employer-paid basic life insurance with the option for additional coverage paid by the employee. The employer pays for Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) and short- and long-term disability insurance. V3 Sports sponsors a retirement plan with a 4% employer match and immediate vesting.

Schedule

This is a hybrid position that will work during regular business hours of 9am - 5pm.

As V3 Sports's Development Manager, you'll drive key fundraising efforts, including managing grants, supporting events, and coordinating development operations to build a strong foundation for the organization's growth and impact.

Responsibilities:

Development & Grant Writing



  • Partner with the Director of Development to identify and pursue funding opportunities that align with organizational goals.
  • Plan and execute fundraising campaigns such as Giving Tuesday, GiveMN, and the Annual Appeal.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, prospects, and supporters throughout the donor lifecycle.
  • Lead the writing, submission, and tracking of compelling grant proposals.
  • Manage grant compliance and reporting, ensuring deadlines are met and data is accurate.
  • Collaborate with program and finance teams to collect information for grant applications and reports.


Fundraising Event Planning & Execution



  • Support the planning and delivery of major fundraising events and smaller donor gatherings.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for event logistics, including venues, vendors, and guest list coordination.
  • Partner with the Director of Development to develop event strategies that advance fundraising goals.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to measure success and identify areas for improvement.


Operations & Team Support



  • Maintain accurate donor and fundraising data within the organization's CRM system.
  • Coordinate logistics for both internal and external fundraising initiatives.
  • Anticipate and address potential risks to keep projects on track.
  • Uphold quality standards and process consistency across all development activities.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to align messaging and support fundraising campaigns.
  • Prepare materials for donor meetings, presentations, and proposals.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for team meetings and development operations.



Who You Are



  • You have a passion for community impact and believe in V3 Sports' mission to create opportunity through movement, wellness, and connection.
  • You bring three to five years of experience in development, fundraising, grant writing, or a related nonprofit role.
  • You hold a bachelor's degree in a related field (such as communications, nonprofit management, business, or a similar area) - or bring equivalent professional experience.
  • You're a strong writer and communicator, able to craft compelling proposals and build authentic relationships with donors and partners.
  • You have a proven track record of securing gifts and grants, with the ability to align funding opportunities to organizational priorities.
  • You're highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • You're comfortable using CRM systems and data management tools to track fundraising activities and ensure accuracy.
  • You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with colleagues across departments to achieve shared goals.
  • You have experience with fundraising events-from planning logistics to engaging attendees and evaluating outcomes.
  • You're proactive, resourceful, and able to anticipate needs or potential challenges before they arise.
  • You value diversity, equity, and inclusion, and bring a relationship-centered approach to your work.
  • You're adaptable and open to taking on new challenges as the organization grows and evolves.
  • You are able and willing to maintain current CPR, First Aid, AED, and BBP certifications. (For new hires, training will be provided during onboarding.)
  • Preferably, you hold a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet V3 Sports' driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit.
