National Grid is hiring a Senior Product Owner/Analyst - Clean Transportation

This position can reside in Massachusetts (Waltham, Northborough, or Worcester), or Albany, NY

This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance

Job Purpose

In this role you will lead a portfolio of clean transportation (electric vehicle) products and program offerings focused on enabling equitable access to at-home EV charging and supporting EV managed charging programs, ensuring they meet customer and stakeholder requirements and align with the group's strategic objectives. This role is on the Clean Transportation team, which supports all EV-related offerings in Massachusetts and Upstate New York.

Key Accountabilities
  • Bring new clean transportation products or offerings to market in support of National Grid's electric vehicle (EV) priorities by analyzing customer insights, markets and technologies, regulatory environments, and product development needs.
  • Develop business plans and financial models to maximize product and offering impacts, including customer benefits and savings, electric grid benefits, and greenhouse gas reductions, while integrating with the existing business model.
  • Work cross-functionally with program implementation, marketing, engineering, IT, regulatory, and other functional groups to launch and scale products. Delivers on time, on target, and on budget.
  • Participate in regulatory proceedings in Massachusetts and New York, including developing
  • testimony, presenting to regulatory bodies, testifying, and responding to information requests.
  • Participate in industry forums to advance National Grid's priorities, particularly on access to residential/at-home EV charging, managed charging, and EV load management.
  • Recommend actions to maintain a healthy pipeline of current and future clean transportation products and offerings.
  • Improve the overall experience for customers with EVs and EV charging, including the development of public materials regarding EVs on National Grid's websites.
  • Maintain awareness of the electric vehicle and EV charging markets, utility and energy markets, customer insights, and other relevant information to advise the Clean Transportation team.
Qualifications
  • B.A. or B.S. required (Masters degree preferred) and 5+ years related work experience.
  • Ability to synthesize diverse inputs, think creatively, and find practical solutions to complex issues.
  • Experience extracting insights from diverse datasets, research, reports, and colleagues.
  • Well-organized and able to balance competing priorities. Ability to move forward amidst uncertainty and complexity.
  • Experience leading collaborative, cross-functional groups to deliver results.
  • Experience with developing and interpreting KPIs, financial forecasts, and business models.
  • Experience in clean energy and/or clean transportation is preferred, though not required.
  • Experience with vehicle-grid integration and load management is preferred, though not required.
  • Experience in utility operations and regulation is preferred, though not required.
  • Experience analyzing large datasets preferred, though not required.
