Job Summary:
The Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture (DPLA) is a dynamic network of scholars and stakeholders working to advance healthy, prosperous, equitable, and sustainable built and natural environments in the tradition of the Wisconsin Idea and from the local to global scale. DPLA's scholarship and educational activities will advance sustainable and livable communities, cities, and regions that are vibrant, thriving, and resilient. This is accomplished through integrative teaching, research, and public engagement that seeks solutions to serve human needs and protect the integrity of natural environments. The department, based upon the disciplines of landscape architecture and urban and regional planning, provides opportunities to explore interdisciplinary research, design, planning, and policy analysis at local, regional, and global scales. We are seeking candidates for a Lecturer position instructing two 3-credit courses per academic year (typically, one in the fall semester and one in the spring semester). Example courses include URPL 601 Site Planning and URPL 611 Urban Design. For at least AY 2026-2027, this position will teach UR 912 Planning Workshop (or LA 563 Designing Sustainable and Resilient Regions), a 4-credit intensive design studio that serves both the MS URPL and BLA programs. College of Letters & Science | Planning and Landscape Architecture Compensation:The typical starting salary for this position is $25,500 (prorated based on the full-time salary of $51,000) depending on qualifications and experience. The salary will be paid out over 9 months. Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as sick leave; competitive insurance and saving accounts; and retirement benefits. Employees have the option to continue benefits for the full calendar year. Required Qualifications:
A master's degree or equivalent in planning, landscape architecture, urban design, architecture, or related field.
