Position Location: We're all about flexibility! This will be a hybrid role based out of our corporate headquarters in Lakeville, MA or our Seaport Boston, MA location with Mondays & Fridays remote.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Sr. Regulatory Scientist to join our team. In this role, you will ensure global compliance with regulatory requirements related to product safety, labeling, formulation and packaging. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams-including marketing, product development, quality assurance, government affairs, and sustainability-to support the technical aspects of new product innovation. A key part of the role is proactively identifying regulatory risks through horizon scanning, enabling teams to navigate evolving regulatory landscapes and develop compliant, forward-thinking products.
Additionally, you will provide expert regulatory support to global teams throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring successful launches in international markets. This includes oversight of ingredient compliance, nutrition labeling, claims substantiation, 3rd party identity preserved claims and packaging regulations for beverage and food products.
A Day in the Life...
- Working knowledge on global regulations for food safety, labeling, claims and packaging compliance, including food contact/packaging to support product development and market readiness. Experience in LATAM or Asia is a plus.
- Provide global regulatory technical support to projects from inception testing through to commercialization or launch by preparing technical regulatory dossiers.
- Conduct horizon scanning on key topics to identify potential challenges and assess impact while ensuring compliance with regulations in current and proposed markets.
- Lead efforts to develop strategic direction and tactical plans with cross functional teams to address upcoming regulations based on impact on business.
- Ensure compliance with food contact and packaging regulations by reviewing materials, specifications, and supplier documentation to meet domestic and international regulatory requirements.
- Oversee compliance and audit readiness for identity-preserved certification programs (e.g., Organic, Non-GMO), including coordination with third-party certifiers and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain identity-preserved certification integrity by managing documentation, monitoring regulatory changes, and supporting cross-functional teams in meeting program requirements across product development and supply chain activities.
- Participate in external meetings and webinars to gain knowledge and information relevant to the business.
- Develop and maintain existing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and tools, as well as recommend opportunities to enhance and improve processes.
What We Are Looking For:
- BS or MS (preferred) in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, Food Toxicology or related field and 3+ years of experience.
- Results-oriented teammate capable of working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Strong ability to make fact-based decisions and influence others.
- Strong organizational & analytical skills.
- Experience utilizing data collection, analysis, maintenance, application, and refinement methods.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including SharePoint) and regulatory research tools. Familiarity with PLM systems is a plus.
- Demonstrated accountability, teamwork, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
Education: Bachelor of Science (Required) Master's Degree (Preferred)

Annual Salary: $79,400 - $109,230
