General Purpose and Scope of Position:

A Dryer Operator is responsible for the production of raw materials into finished products. They control the raw material mixes and drying parameters to produce a product that meets pre-determined specifications.

You will become part of the Union after 90 days of employment.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required

• Willingness to operate material handling equipment including a forklift, skid steer, and other equipment as required

• Ability to repetitively lift packages up to 50 lb. (or 110lb. with a partner) while working in a non-climate-controlled dusty environment

• Good math and organizational skills

• Able to follow written and verbal directions and complete the necessary documentation.

• Willing to work overtime hours as needed

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

• Safely operate dryer and processing equipment (start-up through shutdown)

• Accurately control mixture of raw materials to produce in-spec product

• Take hourly samples of finished product and conduct NIR test to ensure the product is within guaranteed specification limits

• Make necessary adjustments to the mixture if the sample is found to be out of spec

• Accurately record hourly drying and raw material parameters in the Dryer Log

• Manage yeast inventory and track yeast load usage in production for traceability purposes in Yeast Log

• Clean and inspect all magnets in the processing line per "Magnet Program"

• Keep dryer room(s) clean and orderly

• Take all measures necessary to produce the highest quality product

• Follow established policies and procedures

Compensation and Benefits:

• The base compensation for this position ranges from $21.44 to $28.63 per hour. Please note that wages may vary depending on skills and experience.
