Salary Details The academic year salary for a Teaching Instructor will not be less than $75,152, based on the most recent collective bargaining agreement between the faculty union (AAUP-AFT) and Rutgers University.

Posting Summary
The Department of Linguistics at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey - New Brunswick invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track (renewable) position as Teaching Instructor in the Speech and Hearing Sciences. Duties consist primarily of teaching at the undergraduate level. This is a 3-3 teaching load position; the successful candidate will teach three undergraduate courses each semester in Speech and Hearing Sciences and Linguistics.

Minimum Education and Experience
The candidate must have completed all requirements for a Master's degree ( MSSLP or MASLP) or a Ph.D. in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences or a closely related field by August 31, 2026.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience teaching undergraduate students at the university level, with preference for experience with online or hybrid classes. Expertise in one or more of the following areas: phonetics; voice; speech; child language development; or hearing disorders. Expertise in other related areas may also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience advising undergraduate students and clinical experience in speech-language pathology and/or audiology.
