Printed Circuit Board Layout Designer (ECAD)

Acara Solution is looking for a Printed Circuit Board Layout Designer (ECAD) for our client located in Bloomington, MN.

Here's what you'd do:

• You will perform detailed layout design and documentation of printed circuit boards under the direction of a team of electrical and mechanical engineers
• You will work from schematics, part lists, and a basic description of the board function, constraints, configuration, and arrangement as defined by the team of electrical and mechanical engineers
• You will use the Siemens/Mentor Graphics Xpedition toolset, including Layout, Valor, DRC Hazard Checker, Constraint Editor/Constraint Manager (CES), Drawing Editor, and other similar tools
• You will create electronic library symbols, geometry, and footprints.
• You will run Valor and DRC Hazard checks to ensure your work is error-free and the design will meet expectations
• You will check drawings against the project inputs for correctness and conformance to standard engineering drafting practices and standards

• Associate Degree with 5 years of experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with designing HDI printed circuit/wiring boards for high-speed designs, is well-versed in MIL and IPC Standards

• Ideal candidates demonstrate a passion for innovation, teamwork, and a strong sense of ownership.
• Familiar with the current Siemens/Mentor Graphics tools, including Xpedition Design and Layout, Valor (artwork checking tool), Constraint Editor/Constraint Manager (CES), and Drawing Editor.
