Vedder Price's Chicago office is seeking an Audio-Visual and Multimedia Supervisor. The Audio-Visual and Multimedia Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing the design, support, and maintenance of the firm's multimedia architecture. This role will drive the development and implementation of AV technology strategies, ensuring a seamless and effective user experience across all video conference platforms. The Supervisor will also collaborate with various departments to identify and address multimedia needs, promoting innovative solutions that align with the firm's goals. As an Audio-Visual and Multimedia Supervisor, your duties will include but not be limited to: Team Management:
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback to direct report(s).
- Allocate resources and supervise workload to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Strategy and Planning:
- Execute the firm's AV technology roadmap, aligning it with overall business objectives.
- Conduct regular assessments of the AV infrastructure and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the firm remains competitive.
Technical Leadership:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of multimedia systems, including video conferencing platforms, audio-visual equipment, and related technologies.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members and end-users.
- Troubleshoot complex AV issues and coordinate repairs with vendors.
Project Management:
- Supervise AV projects, from planning and budgeting to execution and delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Monitor project progress and address any challenges or roadblocks.
Vendor Management:
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with AV equipment vendors and service providers.
- Ensure that vendors meet performance expectations and adhere to service level agreements.
End-User Support:
- Provide exceptional customer service to end-users, addressing their AV needs and resolving issues promptly.
- Deliver training programs to educate end-users on the use of AV technologies.
- Learn through implementations, translate findings into best practices, and document for establishing group level policies and standards
- Offer confident and consultative influence with all levels of the organization (C-level executives, management, individual contributors, vendors, etc.)
- Prepare training documentation and operation and maintenance manuals
Skills & Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to be adaptable in a changing environment with shifting priorities which focus on delivering outstanding service
- Ability to perform detailed troubleshooting of complex video conferencing equipment and technical issues
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral
- Capability to schedule and coordinate multiple activities in results-oriented environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multitask
- Customer service oriented with the ability to tailor communications to the intended audience
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in AV engineering, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- In-depth knowledge of audio and video conferencing protocols (SIP, H.323, cloud video delivery, etc.).
- Experience with a variety of AV equipment and platforms (Cisco, Polycom, Crestron, Webex, etc.).
- Proficiency with the major online meeting platforms including Microsoft Teams, Webex, Zoom, and Google Meet.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have familiarity with the following equipment and software:
- Windows 10 and Office 365
- Video editing and recording software, preferred
- Crestron and Webex Bot programming skills, preferred
