Purpose of the Role

You will be responsible for leading Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives within a manufacturing environment. Acting as a trusted advisor to Project and Construction Managers, you provide the guidance, structure, and practical tools that promote an effective safety culture. You will identify and eliminate hazards, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in HSE performance across mid to large-scale projects.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide HSE leadership and support to project and construction teams in a manufacturing setting.
  • Develop and implement HSE programs, policies, and procedures that comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations, recommending corrective actions to eliminate or control hazards.
  • Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and HSE training sessions to promote active engagement and awareness.
  • Analyze safety data and trends to identify improvement opportunities and share best practices across projects.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and project management to integrate safety into all phases of project execution.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and proposals that communicate HSE performance and strategy to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach team members to strengthen safety ownership and accountability.

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • A university degree (or equivalent experience) in a related HSE, engineering, or technical discipline.
  • At least 7 years of relevant HSE experience, with a strong background in manufacturing operations.
  • Deep understanding of HSE management systems, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and lead HSE initiatives across multiple disciplines and project teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and guide others on complex safety matters.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing safety improvement strategies that deliver measurable results.
  • A pragmatic mindset-you balance regulatory compliance with practical, real-world solutions.
