Your Role:

At Vital Farms, we believe in cultivating a people-first experience grounded in integrity, transparency, and operational excellence. The People Support Specialist plays a key role in delivering exceptional HR support to our crew and the People Team. This role is responsible for executing core HR processes and providing timely, accurate support related to attendance, payroll assistance, onboarding, systems upkeep, and employment documentation. As the first point of contact for People-related system inquiries, this role ensures smooth operations and a positive crew experience by managing the Vital HR email inbox and supporting a wide range of administrative and systems-based HR functions.

What You'll Do:



  • Serve as the initial point of contact for HR-related questions via the Vital HR email inbox; respond or triage to the appropriate team member as needed.
  • Process transactions in UKG, including new hire setup, crew moves, and compliance documentation.
  • Manage attendance tracking processes and assist leaders with timekeeping inquiries or corrections.
  • Support payroll processing by ensuring timely and accurate entry of data and partnering with supervisors and the payroll team on any corrections or issues.
  • Complete E-Verify submissions for new hires and follow up on any issues or additional documentation required.
  • Respond to unemployment claims and requests for information in collaboration with third-party administrators.
  • Complete employment verifications, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Provide responsive, respectful support to crew members and leaders with general HR inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate records and support data integrity in HR systems.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding administrative tasks (e.g., background checks, I-9 processing, access provisioning)
  • Respond to routine employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and procedures
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and documentation
  • Generate standard reports and audit files for compliance and internal review
  • Guide crew members through troubleshooting, navigating Company websites, and accessing necessary apps


What You Bring to the Table:



  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources, payroll, or a related administrative functions
  • Ability to travel 10-20% of the time for company meetings, team offsites, training sessions and other business needs
  • Working knowledge of HR systems and processes; UKG experience preferred.
  • Positive attitude, professional, highly motivated, and able to easily build relationships across multiple functions and locations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
  • You're passionate about creating a positive crew experience and delivering dependable support.
  • You're organized, self-motivated, and thrive on getting the details right.
  • You enjoy working behind the scenes to ensure smooth HR operations.
  • You're a team player who jumps in to help wherever needed.

At Vital Farms, compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors, which may include, but are not limited to, skill level, experience, education, training, market demands, and business needs. A reasonable estimate of the current starting annual base salary for this position is $60,000 - $70,000. Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum end of the range would not be typical in order to allow for potential continued future salary growth.
