Description

The mission of the West Allis Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in our community through the protection of life and property, fair and unbiased law enforcement, and community partnerships. Uphold that mission as Parking Control Officer. Parking Control Officers play a vital role in keeping streets safe by enforcing traffic laws and ordinances that pertain to parking. Parking Control Officers keep the streets clear of vehicles that create traffic hazards, and during the Wisconsin State Fair, Parking Control Officers play a crucial role in professionally addressing parking complaints so patrol units can address other calls for service. This position requires you to work Sunday-Thursday and hours of 2:30 am - 10:30 am.

Examples of Duties

  • Print overnight parking permission report.
  • Issue parking tickets in accordance of municipal requirements per city laws for parking.
  • Count tickets and place in numerical order.
  • Enter counts into the intranet system and deliver tickets to dispatch.
  • Prepare citation books for the following day.
  • Work in the records department by assisting with the filing of reports and placing citation notices in order.
  • Mark car tires for the daytime parking control officer.
  • Deliver administrative mail by vehicle to and from City hall, police department, Sub-station, and other departments as needed
  • Issue citations when needed when sent out on complaints by dispatch.
  • Attend court trials to assist the City Attorney's Office in the prosecution of parking ordinance violations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Education (or Equivalent)
  • Valid WI Drivers License
  • Demonstrates technical proficiency
