MO Institute of Mental Health

Job Description

About the Team
The Addiction Science team at UMSL-Missouri Institute of Mental Health (UMSL-MIMH) strives to advance high-quality, low-barrier overdose prevention, community health, and substance use treatment and recovery services. We do this through state, federal, and foundation funded initiatives to develop, implement, and rigorously evaluate overdose prevention and substance use programming in Missouri and across the US, with over 25 staff members supporting these efforts. Our mission is to promote effective, compassionate responses to substance use in Missouri by distributing life-saving overdose prevention supplies, delivering innovative and accessible training and education, and advancing research to inform responsive, evidence-based policies and practices. Day to day, these efforts include supply distribution, education and capacity building, data gathering and dissemination, and research and analysis.
Given how many different types of Missouri communities and sectors we serve, and how quickly the landscape of drug use and addiction can change, it is essential we approach our work as continuous learners with a focus on collaboration.
