Workforce Development Specialist Position Purpose Responsible for assisting, developing, and executing corporate and regional recruiting plans at Colleges, Technical Institutions, High Schools, and Military Installations. Specializes in workforce retention and career planning for Kirby Smith Machinery, Inc. Workforce Development Specialists Essential Functions
- Communicates and supports Kirby Smith's mission, vision, and core values
- Develops relationships regionally with educational and technical institutions and military installations to expand recruiting efforts into new regions
- Attends hiring events, job and career fairs, and workforce development events in and out of state; overnight stays required for some events
- Assists with establishing industry accreditation in technical and educational institutions in new regions
- Strengthens relationships with management to identify and resolve any gaps in recruiting, retention, and career planning
- Collaborates with management to develop career paths throughout Kirby-Smith
- Provides employees with guidance on developing a plan to achieve career goals
- Assists with the development of an intern, student-apprentice, etc., onboarding program that provides ongoing support and training
- Documents retention practices to support effective implementation and evaluation
- Engages in ongoing outreachto prospective schools to promote Kirby-Smith's programs and to strengthen educational partnerships. For example, emailingintroductions and fliers, etc.
- Conducts on-site presentations to promote Kirby-Smith programs
- Travels up to 50%
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Exhibits consistent and reliable attendance and productivity
Workforce Development Specialists MinimumQualifications
- College degree in a related field or equivalent industry-related experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Adept at organizing, planning, and completing tasks to manage a high volume of work
- Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and various web-based applications
- Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet established deadlines
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clear driving record
Workforce Development Specialists Physical Requirements
- Lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds without assistance
- The ability to drive locally or a long distance, and sit for long periods
- The ability towork face-to-face with the public
