Job Title: Data Scientist II

Location: 6181 W Centinela Ave., 8th Floor, Culver City, CA 90230

Job Duties: Build or improve various products that enable the ability to serve ads on behalf of TTD's clients across the open internet. Develop custom data science solutions from first principles by applying advanced knowledge in probability, statistics, and machine learning, especially in contexts where off-the-shelf models are ineffective. Apply techniques in graph mining and graph merging to solve large-scale, real-world data problems. Optimize large-scale algorithmic systems operating on petabyte-scale datasets using distributed computing frameworks. Conduct best-subset selection using information theory-based approaches to enhance targeting and performance strategies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate stakeholder requirements into actionable data science projects that align with business goals. Explore novel approaches and challenge traditional methodologies to enhance solution effectiveness and efficiency. Conduct scientific analysis to validate third-party data and evaluate whether they are useful for product. Own the end-to-end data science pipeline for their projects, including identifying specific research questions, carrying out research, building methods that will solve research questions, working with engineering to implement at scale, and presenting results to relevant stakeholders.

Salary: $158,808 - $206,400/year

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computational Social Science or related field and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or related role OR Master's degree (U.S or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computational Social Science or related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related role. Must have four (4) years of experience with: SQL; Database; Python; Data Analyzing and Visualization; Machine Learning and Deep Learning Models; and statistics and probability methods to evaluate the performance of data-driven products and significance testing. Must have three (3) years of experience with: A/B Testing; Cloud Computing Tools; Large Scale Computing Frameworks such as Spark in Scala; and Agile.

CO, CA, IL, NY, WA, and Washington DC residents only: In accordance with CO, CA, IL, NY, WA, and Washington DC law, the range provided is The Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year.
