Job Description

Visa's Internship Program provides an immersive, 12-week journey where you'll work on impactful projects that drive Visa's mission forward. As a Visa intern, you'll build valuable connections across the organization, sharpen your communication and business acumen, and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, global environment.

Team Description:

Visa's Global Design organization builds the experiences that power the world's most trusted payment network. Within this organization, the Design Operations team enables creative excellence by ensuring that design work is planned, executed and scaled efficiently.

We're looking for a Design Operations Intern to join us in Austin, TX, for Summer 2026. This internship offers hands-on experience in the operational systems and practices that power our design organization. You will contribute to initiatives that improve how design teams collaborate, plan, and deliver outcomes aligned with Visa's strategic product priorities.

You will gain first-hand experience in how design operates within a global payments technology company, learning to connect data, process, and collaboration in support of creative excellence. You will work closely with experienced design operations professionals who will mentor you through real projects that strengthen your skills in organization, communication, and systems thinking. By the end of the program, you'll have a deeper understanding of how large-scale design organizations plan, deliver and measure impact - and how thoughtful design operations can turn creative vision into business results.

Role responsibilities/potential projects include:

  • Plan, coordinate, and help execute design programs, reviews, and milestones for multi-disciplinary, globally distributed teams.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve operational systems, documentation, templates, and dashboards that help teams plan and report work.
  • Analyze workflow data, identify opportunities for more effective collaboration, and help rollout new processes or tools.
  • Collaborate with team members using industry-leading tools like Figma, Jira, Coda, and emerging AI platforms, to streamline design delivery and operations at scale.
  • Help prepare engaging materials for design showcases, quarterly planning, team communications and leadership presentations.
  • Observe and participate in design team rituals-from brainstorming sessions to design reviews- to understand how creative work aligns with and drives business outcomes.
  • Practice structured problem-solving, collaboration and clear communication in fast-paced environment.
  • Attend regular mentorship sessions with senior designers, design operations professionals, and joint intern events, workshops, and cross-functional networking opportunities.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Operations Management, Communications or a related design field, graduating in December 2026 - August 2027
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; adept at presenting ideas clearly and collaborating in teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiar with collaborative work or productivity tools (Figma, Jira, Confluence, Asana, Notion, Coda, or similar); eager to learn new platforms and processes.
  • Passionate about data-informed decision making and learning to measure design outcomes.
  • Awareness of accessibility, inclusion, and ethical design practices.
  • Curious about AI's impact on creative and operational workflows.
  • Portfolio, project, or academic work that demonstrates strong organization, documentation, or systems thinking awareness.
Additional Information

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated hourly range for a new hire into this position is $26/hr to $31/hr which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Travel Requirements:This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements:This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
