The ideal candidate will have experience working in a start-up or private-equity owned environment with prior experience ensuring consistent corporate financial strategy through a range of avenues such as managing and allocating accounts, financial statements, and tax data. The candidate will also be the point of contact for banks, auditors, and tax authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the accounting function, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Oversee all general ledger activities, reconciliations, and journal entries
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury processes
  • Support ERP implementation, ensuring proper integration of procurement, operations, and finance workflows
  • Oversee preparation of management reports, cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis to support decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, tax regulations, and audit requirements; manage relationships with external auditors and advisors
  • Partner with the CFO and FP&A team to provide insight into financial performance, budgets, and long-term forecasts
  • Build and mentor a small accounting team, setting high standards for accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related area.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and controllership experience, ideally in industrial, manufacturing, or capital-intensive sectors
  • Understanding of US GAAP
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare IFRS-compliant financial statements and manage external audits.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (or ERP implementations), with strong Excel and analytical skills
  • 5+ years experience at an audit and accounting firm and CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to design and enforce internal controls and financial governance in a scaling business
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Relocation - Willingness to relocate within the United States within the next 1 to 2 years.

Schedule: Full-time

FLSA: Salary, exempt

Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 annually
