Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our operations team in Portsmouth, VA. This full-time position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations including inventory handling, order fulfillment, packaging, and forklift operation. The Warehouse Associate ensures the accuracy of all shipments and inventory records while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. Job Responsibilities
Support the implementation and maintenance of the company's quality system to ensure compliance with operational standards
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and rolling carts safely and efficiently to move, pick, and store materials
Package, label, and process customer orders accurately using computer systems for receipts, putaways, picks, and replenishments
Inspect incoming products and verify accuracy against shipping manifests
Report and escalate inventory discrepancies to inventory control or management for resolution
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to evaluate and properly disposition incoming materials
Maintain an organized and clean work environment that aligns with safety and efficiency goals
Follow all warehouse procedures, safety regulations, and company policies
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Ability to perform basic math, read, and interpret written operating procedures
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in shipments and inventory records
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with variable temperatures and moving equipment
Willingness to work extended hours as business needs require
Preferred Qualifications
Experience reading and interpreting product labels, picking sheets, and manifests
Forklift certification (or ability to become certified through company-provided training)
Experience in shipping, receiving, and warehouse inventory processes
Ability to operate rolling pushcarts, electric forklifts, and manual pallet jacks
Physical and Environmental Requirements
Lifting: Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. from ground to waist level frequently (handling one or two cases at a time)
Pushing/Pulling: Frequently initiate pallet movement using manual pallet jacks
Standing/Walking: Frequently to continuously stand or walk on variable surfaces throughout the work shift
Repetitive Motions: Frequent to continuous grasping, lifting, and use of hands for product handling and tool operation
Bending/Squatting: Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching to access products stored at varying heights (floor to 60 inches)
Vision Requirements: Must possess peripheral vision and depth perception for safe and accurate material handling
Work Environment: Frequently exposed to warehouse equipment and variable temperature conditions; occasional exposure to outdoor elements when dock doors are open
