| OverviewThe Operating General Supervisor (Senior Distribution System Operator) is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and construction of the electric distribution system. The individual will have operating authority of work being performed on the electric distribution system. The Operating General Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to customers, maintaining system stability, and responding effectively to emergencies. ResponsibilitiesCore Responsibilities  
 The Operating General Supervisor is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and construction of the Electric Distribution System. The Operating General Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to customers, maintaining system stability, and responding effectively to emergencies.Ensure the safe, timely, and efficient response to emergencies and the repair and restoration of underground, services, and associated electrical distribution equipment of varying voltages and configurations in accordance with operating procedures and engineering plans and specifications.Qualify and maintain operating authority status as per various procedures, and specifications.Oversee, dispatch, and coordinate personnel in the repair and restoration of underground high-tension conductors and equipment of the electrical distribution system.Control and document all work related activities on system high-tension feeders by permitting only authorized personnel to sign on and off primary feeder assignments.Coordinate primary distribution feeder work as directed by Authorities Having Jurisdiction with all company departments and/or outside agencies as required by procedures during emergency conditions and as needed.Administer and communicate system operation, distribution engineering, and other Company operating procedures, engineering plans, and specifications to the team and ensure proper operation, repair, and restoration of underground conductors, devices, and equipment.Oversee team members, prepare, and update databases for distribution system design issues such as transformer units offline, temporary emergency services, and primary cable abnormalities.Plan and assign work assignments with various departments to optimize productivity and meet operating and system conditions.Embrace and adhere to our Standards of Business Conduct, culture of security to drive a culture of excellence and achieve departmental alignment with corporate values.Provide additional assistance in trouble work and emergency repairs during storm and heat related activity, including Incident Command System (ICS) mobilizations. QualificationsRequired Education/Experience  
 Relevant Work ExperienceHigh School Diploma/GED and 5 years of utility or relevant technical work experience orAssociate's Degree and 4 years of utility or relevant technical work experience orBachelor's Degree and 3 years of utility or relevant technical work experience  
 Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrates strong leadership skills and experience managing an operating organization. RequiredPossess knowledge and technical experience in the design, operation, repair, and safe restoration of electric distribution systems. RequiredProficient with computer applications including Microsoft Office suite, RequiredCapable to exercise independent judgment, demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, and able to render sound decisions. RequiredDemonstrate flexibility to evaluate, prioritize and respond rapidly to changing conditions on the electrical distribution system. RequiredAble to learn all relevant safety and environmental procedures. RequiredExcellent oral and written communication skills and committed to providing exemplary customer service. RequiredAll selected candidates will be required to complete a training period and qualify for all requirements of the Operating General Supervisor role. On-going employment is contingent on successfully completing all training requirements and meeting qualifications for the role in no later than a year from initial onboarding. RequiredWork experience including at least 3 years of demonstrated technical experience in construction, operation, design, maintenance, of electric distribution systems. PreferredTwo years of supervisory experience. Preferred

 The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.Must be able to work rotating shifts, including nights, midnights, weekends, and holidays. This is a supervisory transition rate eligible position (STR5) with rotating shift premium pay.Must be able and willing to travel within company service territory, as needed. |
