        | Job Shift |  | Any |  | Description Summary Responsible for assisting in the overall management and supervision of the Housekeeping/Laundry Departments. Job Duties and Responsibilities  
 
     
 Manage day-to-day Housekeeping/Laundry operations including, but not limited to, work assignments, scheduling days off, personal days, vacations, and holidays, authorizing overtime and preparing payrollPurchase and control of laundry supplies and equipment as well as linen, amenities, cleaning supplies, and other housekeeping supplies. Organize and conduct weekly and quarterly inventoriesInspect all housekeeping areas and VIP rooms prior to their arrival, on a regular basisConduct daily room inspections and provide on the job training as requiredCoordinate all housekeeping projects with relevant department headsOperate, monitor, and maintain all Housekeeping/Laundry and Health Club Departments equipmentImplement, monitor, and maintain operating proceduresMeet with outside contractors on an ongoing basis to ensure quality performanceResolve all guest and employee complaints in a timely manner and within hotel guidelinesAssist in hiring, developing, counseling, evaluating, and disciplining staff in accordance with hotel policies and proceduresAssist in preparing operating budgetMonitor and update department checkbooks on ongoing basisConduct departmental meetingsSupport and uphold philosophy concerning hiring, employee relations, supervision, and disciplinary actionInteract in a courteous and professional manner with all guests, staff, and community membersRespond in a courteous, professional, and rapid manner in order to resolve all guest and staff difficultiesSupervise, direct, coordinate, influence, and persuade staff in order to maintain service standards of hotelInteract with people beyond giving and receiving instructions, particularly interaction with supervisor, subordinates, co-workers, and guests in completing assignments, resolving staff and guest complaintsInterpret and comply with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formPerform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composureMaintain and promote cleanliness and safety throughout the hotelMonitor and control operation of various sections including, but not limited to, guest floors, linen closets, public areas, offices, storerooms, chute room, valet, and laundryConduct training sessions for groups and on a one-on-one basis
 
 Required Qualifications 
 
     
 Experience in hospitality or related management capacityThorough knowledge of hotel and Housekeeping/Laundry Department operations and ability to master suchAbility to manage the department in the absence of the Director of HousekeepingThorough knowledge of Computerized Hotel Systems and ability to master current Property Management System technologyAbility to coordinate work activities with other departmentsExceptional oral communication skills to ensure ability to negotiate and persuade guest and staff to achieve results beneficial to operation of hotel
 
 Preferred Qualifications 
 
     
 Four-year degree in hospitality and/or related business managementThorough knowledge of FORBES standards
