Suppression Technician II or III

What you will do

The Suppression Technician III (also known as a "Route Service & Sales Representative") will maintain a route servicing existing fire extinguisher, kitchen hoods, e-light and pre-engineered and possibly engineered gas system customers. Inspect, service, repair and install 2 or more suppression product lines, emergency lights, fire extinguishers, pre-engineered and industrial systems according to safety requirements and manufacturer's specifications.

How you will do it

This position is primarily a technician role with some sales responsibilities. Make recommendations based on manufacturer's specifications and state/local codes. Identify deficiencies. Quote, sell, and repair on-site. Up-sell existing customers to new product offerings and services to meet compliance with current fire code regulations. What we look for

Required

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must have or meet the requirements for an Extinguisher and pre-engineered permit.
• Willing and able to make cold calls to potential new business, approximately 2-3 hours per week.
• 1+ years of experience with service in the fire protection industry.
• Must be flexible with working hours, possible nights/weekends to meet customers' needs.
• Able and willing to be on-call one week per month for kitchen suppression.
• Willing and able to climb and work in awkward and cramped positions, working around kitchen equipment, stairwells, fire escapes, etc.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and carry for up to 50 yards.
• Positive attitude, self-motivated, strong organizational.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Able to pass a drug and background check.

Preferred

• 2 - 5 or more years of experience with service in the fire protection industry.
• 2 - 5 or more years of customer service experience.
• Extinguisher and pre-engineered permit (plus)
• Kitchen suppression experience (plus)
