Division: Executive Department: Internal Audit Reports to: VP, Sr. Audit Manager Status: Exempt Grade: 9 Salary Range: $52,000 - $103,330 Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. Location: Hybrid within MA, RI, or Albany, NY Purpose/Objective: Internal auditing is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an organization's operations. It helps the organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. Auditors ensure that the organization is held accountable to its stakeholders and shareholders. As such, internal auditors are key to the organization's success. The Staff Auditor II is responsible for completing financial, operational, and compliance audits; identifying inadequate, inefficient, or ineffective internal controls; and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and all applicable laws and regulations. Position assists in the preparation of auditing work papers and draft reports. In this role, the Staff Auditor II provides general guidance to other Staff Auditors on daily tasks and may be responsible for assisting Senior Auditors in leading lower to moderate risk audits. This position requires discretion and tact in handling confidential and sensitive information relating to overall Berkshire Hills Bancorp policies and operations, specific divisions and departments, personnel, and/or clients. The Staff Auditor II must remain independent from management and operational duties while exercising significant professional judgment regarding the interpretation of issues and requirements in an environment of change and complexity.
