What You'll Do

The Senior ServiceNow Developer designs, builds, and maintains advanced solutions across the ServiceNow platform, ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient delivery of IT and business processes. This role requires deep knowledge of ServiceNow's core functionality, including client/server scripting, Flow Designer, integrations (REST/SOAP APIs), SAML/SSO configuration, and data management. The Senior Developer collaborates with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to deliver high-performing applications, implement automation, and drive platform optimization aligned with enterprise goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement advanced ServiceNow solutions, applications, and workflows across multiple products and modules.
  • Develop and support ServiceNow modules including ITSM, ITOM, and CMDB.
  • Develop and maintain Service Portal pages, widgets, and user interfaces to enhance user experience and accessibility.
  • Build, modify, and maintain Service Catalog items, record producers, and request workflows to support business needs.
  • Configure and maintain integrations with third-party systems using REST, SOAP, JDBC, and mid-server architecture.
  • Implement and support authentication and access management solutions, including SAML 2.0, OAuth, and Single Sign-On (SSO).
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex platform and integration issues.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, technical design documents, and deployment plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Infrastructure, Security, and Business Operations, to deliver sustainable ServiceNow solutions.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to the enforcement of coding and deployment standards across multiple environments.
  • Stay current with the latest ServiceNow capabilities and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and automation opportunities.
Requirements
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Developer (CAD) certifications required.
  • Hands-on experience working within Agile and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environments.
  • Expertise in JavaScript, Glide APIs, and the ServiceNow development lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of platform security, ACLs, UI policies, client scripts, and data management.
  • Experience with Flow Designer, Business Rules, Script Includes, and ServiceNow Integrations.
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable ServiceNow solutions.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a commitment to quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Active Tier 4 Public Trust Clearance from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications in ITSM, ITOM, and/or CMDB, or a strong desire to obtain them.
  • Familiarity with Automated Test Framework (ATF) and instance migration best practices.
  • ITIL v4 Foundation certification or equivalent process knowledge.
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP, CMMI, or ISO 9001 environments.
