Job Purpose:



FinThrive is seeking a Payer Relations & Connection Manager, who is responsible for all current and future relationships with payers (health insurance carriers.) This role will be responsible for identifying opportunities, securing contracts and coordinating implementation on executed agreements. The Payer Relationship Manager will be responsible for cultivating relationships with payers and coordinating those relationships across the clearinghouse business. This role will have responsibility in expanding FinThrive's payer-centric offerings while managing costs. The role provides product and payor expertise and is a key player in supporting the functions of our clearinghouse operations. Focused on ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction by quickly and correctly resolving or triaging cases and interacting with clients and payors via verbal and written communication in a professional manner.


This position requires strong communication/interpersonal skills, great follow up and organizational capabilities, and contract language interpretation.


How you will contribute:



The Payer Relationship Manager will be the primary owner of FinThrive's payer connectivity strategy. This role will identify targets, contact payers to secure an agreement for connection, work with legal to execute agreements and drive implementation.


This role will be responsible for building FinThrive's relationships with Payers. The role will be responsible for building out our offerings with contracted payers and better understanding the needs the payer has that could further the partnership.


The Payer Relationship Consultant will work closely with Operations counterparts on communication with clients with regards to payer connectivity as well as troubleshoot and address errors.


Managing invoices from Payers and working closely with FinThrive Finance teams for reconciliation, approval, and payment.



Required Skills Minimum Qualifications & Competencies:



  • Ability to communicate with others, including payers and customers, in a clear, understandable and professional manner on the phone, via email and in person; and the demonstrated use of excellent written (i.e. good grammar/spelling) and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate professional motivation, steadiness and dedication and the ability to develop and maintain successful, long-term, relationships with key industry/payer/client contacts.
  • Ability to lead contract negotiations and coordinate across teams
  • Ability for critical thinking for continuous improvement around customer experience and operations


  • Proven knowledge and experience in customer experience and support.


  • Demonstrate organizational, problem solving, time management and analytical skills.
  • Past or similar experience in a billing office with consistent communication with the payor.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output.
  • Self-direction and a strong sense of professionalism and personal accountability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.)


Education/Experience:



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of Healthcare, Payers, HIPAA, EDI and Healthcare X12 transactions is preferred.
  • Knowledge of payer contracting and terms negotiation
  • 2-4 years' experience in Healthcare industry
  • Comprehensive understanding of hospital revenue cycle preferred
  • CRM or SalesForce experience a plus
