The Team:

Morningstar's Corporate Finance team plays an essential role in supporting our company's strategic initiatives, day-to-day operations, and long-term financial health and growth. Our Corporate FP&A team is responsible for planning, forecasting, and analyzing the company's financial results. The team works collaboratively with our senior leaders, business finance partners and international teams to support our strategy and growth initiatives and help make informed business decisions.

The Role:

As a Senior Financial Analyst Corporate FP&A, you will work closely with stakeholders across the business to resolve financial issues and drive value with timely and accurate forecasting and reporting. In addition, you will support central function initiatives, collaborate with long-term planning, build relationships with senior management, and work on special projects as necessary.

This position reports into the Director of Corporate FP&A and is based in our Chicago office.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to various central functions with their budgets, forecasts, performance analysis, financial modeling and alignment with our long-term strategic plan.
  • Support in providing allocations to the business for these functions and help business units and leaders understand the drivers behind the changes to allocation.
  • Collaborate across all businesses and regions to ensure consistency of FP&A processes with central requirements for your respective areas.
  • Support the Financial Reporting team and Investor Relations in the quarterly and annual reporting process, on case-to-case basis
  • Perform financial modeling for central functions and provide insightful analysis for decision-making.
  • Identify risks and opportunities and develop a mitigation plan collaborating with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Track and evaluate consistency in KPIs and financial reporting across central functions, enabling greater visibility and performance monitoring and measurement.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree: MBA/CPA/CFA a plus. Coursework should include exposure to one or more of: finance/accounting/business/economics/data science/STEM.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in corporate finance or business partnership/analysis roles.
  • Candidate should be detail-oriented and a thought leader with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to influence decisions and outcomes.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work well on large and small cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with team members, business leaders, and other internal functions.
  • Very strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential and knowledge of Oracle/Hyperion, Workday, Workday Adaptive Planning, Salesforce, Tableau, and/or PowerBI is preferred.
  • While not required, the ideal candidate would also benefit from experience with Python/R/SQL and related technologies.

Total Cash Compensation Range

$92,525.00 - 157,275.00 USD Annual

Inclusive of annual base salary and target incentive
