About this Position

ChristianaCare is searching for a Senior Accountant to be responsible for performing accounting functions as part of the Financial Accounting & Reporting team to produce complete and accurate financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Position will support Accounting and Treasury in the oversight and reporting of various short and long-term investment pools including banking and treasury management of system entities.
  • Maintains internal control and safeguards for investment related activities and reporting.
  • Facilitates and completes the monthly close process in Workday Financials by preparing and reviewing general ledger entries.
  • Reviews, reconciles, and validates daily bank transactions including cash reconciliation tools, balance sheet accounts, as well as operating statements to agree with general ledger balances.
  • Provides support and prepares schedules, including leveling table, for the annual external audit.
  • Prepares various periodic reporting to external parties on a timely basis.
  • Collaborates with IT Finance team to build, validate, improve, and troubleshoot reports in Workday Financials.
  • Develops and maintains supporting documentation for all aspects of job functions.
  • Identifies and proposes process improvement opportunities.
  • Performs other duties and special projects involving detailed research as required.
  • Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.
  • Reports to Manager in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting required.
  • One to three years of accounting experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of Treasury operations, including cash management, cash investment processes, bank account management required.
  • Strong excel skill required.
  • Healthcare financial or related experience preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Annual Compensation Range $73,611.20 - $117,790.40 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
