Responsibilities

ECS is seeking a Building Enclosure Associate Principal to join our Southwest Facilities team in Dallas, TX. Reporting to the Subsidiary Director, this role will help lead the building enclosure practice in North Texas and Oklahoma as well as support pursuits and projects throughout the Southwest region. This role provides senior technical oversight, project delivery leadership, and staff mentorship.

ECS Associate Principals serve as key client-facing leaders, responsible for ensuring project deliverables are high-quality and timely in addition to supporting business development and growth goals of the business. In this role, you will spend approximately 30-40% of your time pursuing new projects, business development activities, proposals, staff management, and training. 60-70% of your time will be engaged in project work at a Principal oversight level as well as key client management. Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

  • Lead project delivery and technical operations for building enclosure consulting and testing projects in North Texas and Oklahoma
  • Monitor financial performance and support other teams with staff resource allocation
  • Support the Director with other group management tasks as assigned
  • Promoting a safe workplace and proper use of PPE and compliance with safety policies
  • Review monthly invoicing and support collections as necessary

Business Development & Client Relationships

  • Provide quality assurance, risk management, and budget review of proposals
  • Maintain and develop relationships with architects, owners, general contractors, and developers
  • Support the Director and dedicated Business Development staff in pursuing new clients and other strategic opportunities
  • Represent ECS at industry events, conferences, client education and networking functions, and participate in technical committees

Staff Development and Management

  • Recruit, supervise, train, and mentor junior and mid-level staff
  • Provide feedback, coaching and performance evaluations
  • Support other recruiting and onboarding efforts to expand the regional team

Technical Principal/Project Oversight

  • Serve as project principal on building enclosure consulting and testing projects
  • Perform peer reviews of designs, investigations, assessments, and reports
  • Oversee field testing, investigations, commissioning, and design of repairs
  • Resolve complex technical/design issues and communicate solutions to project team and other stakeholders
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to ECS quality standards

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering Architecture (NCARB), Civil (Structural) Engineering, or Architectural Engineering preferred
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Licensed or certified as at least one of the following:
    • Professional Engineer (P.E.), Registered Architect (R.A.), International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) offered RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC, CBECxP, University of Wisconsin-Madison offered BECxP and CxA+BE
  • Candidates must have achieved previous designation as Principal at ECS or hold similar designation from competitor firm
