 The Subject Matter Expert III (CSE) will support the Chugach Technical Program Manager and the US Coast Guard team. The incumbent will provide day-to-day engineering support to NIWC. The position requires an experienced Specialist to support the project.  Travel up 15% CONUS/OCONUS. Work Model: Onsite/In-Office Responsibilities
 
 Essential Duties & Job Functions:
 
 Accountable For:Participate in technical design reviews, integration, testing, and documentation updatesTroubleshoot security and network problemsDetailed understanding of DoD Host Based Security systemsResponsible for working with the Cyber, Software and network team to address Cyber issuesResponsible for reviewing technical documentation and provided detailed feedbackUpdate, sustain, and administer in-house infrastructure as requiredRun vulnerability scans and audits on local infrastructureCoordinate Cyber Mitigation review meetings for Information Systems.Apply system security engineering principles to deliver real solutions premeditated to enhance the security positionIdentify threats and develop suitable defense measures, evaluate system changes for security implications, and recommend enhancements, research, and draft cyber security white papers, for resolving difficult cyber security issuesDevelop and update Cyber Security documentation such as software/hardware list, Topology drawings, ports protocols and servicesWrite Risk Management Framework (RMF)-based policies and procedures, and develop comprehensive cyber security processes to contain implementationConfigure Windows and Linux host-based security as well as network and cloud-based security systemsSupport with the installation and configuration of network security architectures, including firewalls, router ACLs (Access Control Lists)Support the upgrading of security protection of the organization's data, systems, and networksExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network security issues.Experience with Cyber Security tools, technologies, and processes, such as IDS/IPS, SIEM, ACAS/Nessus 
 Working under pressure and time constraints.Works well individually or in a team environment.Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial, especially while on travel. Job Requirements
 
 Mandatory:
 
 Preferred:BS in Cyber Security or Computer Science FieldU.S. citizen.Active DOD Secret security clearance.CompTIA Security + Certification or GIAC's GSEC or GFACT Certification.Four (4) years of experience working with Government systems.Proficient with MS Visio, Nessus, STIG Viewer.Willing to travel up to 15% CONUS/OCONUS.Must have a valid driver's license and reliable.Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug test. 
 Working Conditions:Proficient with Wireshark, Metasploit, Nmap, Burp, KaliCISSP, CISM, or equivalent CertificationExperience implementing RMF-based cybersecurity policies and proceduresExperience with the Sea Commander SystemExperience using MS VisioExperience in emerging technologies 
 Physical Requirements:The work may be performed at (Moorestown, NJ), industrial areas to include shipyard, Navy/Coast Guard bases, shipboard and shore site locations. 
 Ability to lift 30, climb vertical ladders, operate, and work around heavy machinery.Operate hand and power tools. |
