Job Summary:

The Product Manager will be responsible for leading product execution for critical business process applications that OpenGov's clients use. The role is both internal and external focused and execution oriented with emphasis on high-quality, solution oriented product development in a fast-paced, positive and mission driven organization.

We are looking for a seasoned Product Manager who can help shape the vision of leading Permitting and Licensing solutions for OpenGov. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with teams in Argentina, US and Ukraine to build product features from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into shippable features in a fast paced agile environment. You are curious, self- driven with a passion for building products that delight customers.

At OpenGov, the PM team works closely with talented engineers, product designers, solution engineers and deployment experts to help design the next generation modern permitting & licensing solutions that will change the way governments transform public administration. Our ideal candidate has shipped several releases of enterprise software, preferably in the ERP space (public or private sector). They have exemplary communication skills, are comfortable in presenting complex business concepts at all levels and are not afraid to challenge the status quo.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the long-term product vision and strategy for a key component of the Procurement Suite.

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market opportunities and threats.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap aligned with business objectives and customer needs.

  • Drive product innovation and differentiation within the competitive landscape.

Product Development: Lead the entire product lifecycle, from concept to launch and beyond.

  • Define and prioritize product features based on market demand, customer feedback, and business value.

  • Create detailed product requirements documents (PRDs) and user stories that clearly articulate product vision and functionality.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to ensure successful product delivery.

  • Manage product releases and go-to-market activities, including launch planning, communication, and training.

Customer Focus: Deeply understand customer needs, pain points, and success metrics.

  • Conduct customer interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather feedback and inform product decisions.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.

  • Proactively identify and address customer issues and challenges.

Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Analyze product performance data (e.g., usage, adoption, customer satisfaction) to identify areas for improvement.

  • Track key metrics and report on product progress and success.

  • Use data to inform product decisions and prioritize initiatives.

Industry Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

  • Stay abreast of evolving procurement technologies, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes.

  • Ensure product compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.

Requirements and Preferred Experience:
  • 8+ years of progressive product management experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

  • Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling complex SaaS products.

  • Deep domain expertise in procurement processes, technologies, and industry regulations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA preferred.

  • Some travel required

$140k - $159k

On target ranges above include base plus a portion of variable compensation that is earned based on company and individual performance.

The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate's geographical location.
