Compensation: $37.20 - $37.20 /hourly

Tessera is seeking a skilled and dependable Electrician Power Production professional to support critical infrastructure operations at USAFA. In this role, you'll install, operate, maintain, and repair electrical power generation systems, control panels, and distribution equipment. You'll coordinate outages and repairs, interpret technical drawings, and ensure all work meets NEC, NFPA, and USAF safety standards. Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Install, operate, maintain, and repair electrical power generation systems, control panels, and associated equipment
  • Maintain and troubleshoot airfield lighting systems and electrical infrastructure in compliance with DoD and USAF standards
  • Plan, organize, and execute electrical maintenance and repairs using engineered performance standards and technical documentation
  • Coordinate outages, emergency repairs, and upgrades with base personnel and stakeholders
  • Assess work sites, determine resource needs, and prepare cost estimates for service requests
  • Monitor work order priorities, labor costs, and ensure compliance with support agreements and recapitalization plans
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports for electrical systems and generating units per USAFA protocols
  • Operate lift equipment and perform duties in confined spaces, at heights, and under adverse weather conditions while adhering to NEC, NFPA, and USAF safety procedures

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial, military, or industrial electrical systems and power production
  • Valid Colorado Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent military certification AFSC 3E052
  • In-depth knowledge of power generation systems, switchgear, control panels, and emergency backup systems
  • Experience with aircraft arresting systems, cathodic protection, and lightning protection systems preferred
  • Familiarity with airfield lighting systems and DoD electrical infrastructure standards
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineered performance standards

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
