JOB SUMMARY

Define, control, and improve the manufacturing processes of transformers in order to increase productivity and ensure product quality through the Toyota Production System.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Audit the adherence to the work schemes and processes defined for the manufacturing of transformer products to facilitate the management and compliance with the objectives of each manufacturing line.
  • Develop specific and key knowledge for the correct operation of the assigned processes.
  • Develop special productivity projects under the NPI methodology to close competitive gaps and achieve annual objectives according to factory requirements.
  • Diagnose required levels of process control, profitability, efficiency, and sustainability, detecting areas of opportunity that demand improvement.
  • Design competitive manufacturing processes to ensure achievement of objectives in terms of cost, quality and delivery.
  • Evaluate system variability through statistical and control techniques to ensure process and product quality through continuous improvement.
  • Explore best practices that are implemented within the transformer / manufacturing industry to define the technological GAPS of the manufacturing lines.
  • Actively manage control mechanisms for the sustainability of the organization's initiatives and pillars.

  • Support the correct execution of production plans.
  • Coordinate activities in work teams in Workshops
  • Generate/execute investment project proposals to improve safety, quality and/or productivity of the area.
  • Continuously measure production cycles

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Advanced plant, engineering and materials capabilities
  • Intermediate knowledge of Manufacturing Variable Costs (LCP, VCP, MCP and OVCP)
  • Advanced knowledge of TPS Methodology
  • Intermediate knowledge of seven basic quality tools
  • Languages- advanced English, basic Spanish preferred
  • Other Skills/Competencies- Project Management, Process Analysis, Statistical Analysis, Excel Intermediate/Advanced, Financial Principles (Basic/Advanced)
  • Additional Attributes- Effective Communication, Innovation, Passion for Results, Planning, Decision-Making

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Professional- Mechanical Engineer Administrator, Mechanical Electrical Engineer, Industrial Engineer Administrator, Industrial and Systems Engineer
  • Post-Graduate- Science with specialization in Manufacturing Systems, Industrial Engineering
  • 3 Years Experience in Total Quality Control
  • 3 Years Experience in Manufacturing
  • 3 Years Experience in Continuous Improvement

Value Analysis Indicator (cycle time) by area indicating bottlenecks and opportunities by process.

Weekly indicator of process and manufacturing scheme audits

List of Tooling / Tools required for each operation indicating the condition of the same.

Improvement plan for process cycle time reduction and capacity increase

Projects focused on savings (Quality, Productivity or other).
