Under the general direction of the FAO, this position will have independent authority to manage and supervise all Department of Chemistry financial, purchasing, travel, and facilities matters. Directs the work of departmental Accounting and Purchasing/Facilities functions and personnel, with direct supervision of four employees and indirect supervision of other support staff. Responsibilities involve financial and purchasing/ facilities operations as well as internal control and compliance. Manages day-to-day operational problems and makes recommendations concerning departmental resources, policies, practices, and operations. Anticipate operational problems and develop recommendations for review and implementation. The Incumbent assumes full responsibility for administration/supervision of all administrative functions in the absence of the FAO. The Chemistry Department has: ~320 employees; ~$30 million dollars per year in expenditures; ~128,000 assignable square feet of space in 5 office and laboratory buildings. In addition, the Chemistry Department serves as the financial, administrative unit with daily financial, administrative and management responsibilities for the operations of the CNAS College Machine and Glass Shops. These shops employ 2.4 FTE and generate approximately $50,000 per year in revenue. The Chemistry Department also serves as the financial, administrative unit responsible for the financial and administrative oversight of the Analytical Chemistry Instrumentation Facility (ACIF), a CNAS college facility. The ACIF employs 3.35 FTE and generates approximately $290,000 in revenue.

The full salary range for the Financial Operations Manager position is $81,500.00 - $154,700.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $81,500.00 - $110,000.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
