Overview

VTG is seeking a Senior Associate Cybersecurity Analyst with strong technical, leadership and task management skills. Dozens of Navy tactical systems ranging between legacy software installed on bare metal to micro-containers running in an on-premise cloud need to be delivered, installed, integrated, and tested rapidly and securely. The individual will work to develop and implement information security requirements, testing, and solutions for inclusion in these future tactical systems. The Cybersecurity Analyst will work with a small team based out of Manassas, VA, but will also be responsible for collaborating with a larger community of organizations and government representatives from across the country.


What will you do?

Serve as a Cybersecurity Analyst responsible for cybersecurity requirements and system level testing for Navy combat system cybersecurity. The primary focus will be working with a large team of contractors and government engineers on supporting the development, maintenance, and testing of requirements, while providing regular updates to the internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate must possess a detailed understanding of Linux, cloud architecture, cybersecurity requirements, and a strong cybersecurity background.


Do you have what it takes?

  • 2+ years of experience as a cybersecurity analyst (or similar role)
  • Extensive experience using Linux (RHEL/Centos 7, 8, 9)
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Experience with modern PaaS environment tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, KVM, or Helm
  • Initiative, innovation, and resourcefulness
  • Successful completion of background check
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance

Desired Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

  • Cybersecurity experience supporting and assessing cybersecurity requirements
  • Understanding software vulnerability assessment and mitigation
  • Familiarity with the NIST Security Controls
  • IAT Level II (DoD 8570 Qualification Requirements)
  • S. Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related field with recent education in Information (Cyber) Security
  • Knowledge of Navy Cybersecurity practices, policies, and procedures
  • Understanding of agile software development

Travel Requirements:

  • Some work may be performed remotely. Occasional travel 5% of the time
