Job Title: PrEP Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) Coordinator provides supportive services to facilitate education, navigation, engagement, and retention of patients in the IDGP PrEP program for HIV prevention. PrEP is medication taken to prevent HIV on a regular basis for vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide PrEP screening and navigation services to support patients making informed decisions about PrEP and assisting patients to access financial resources to pay for PrEP.

  • Provide PrEP retention services to support patient adherence to PrEP.

  • Support care coordination activities; including assisting patients with referrals to other support services, such as mental health, substance use, etc.

  • Participate in PrEP quality improvement, research, and expansion activities.

  • Work closely with community-based and other organizations to facilitate referrals and linkage into the PrEP program and participate in outreach activities to promote IDGP PrEP program and services.

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in health care, public health, social services, or a related field from an accredited institution.

    • A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

  • Two (2) years of professional experience in health care, public health, social services, or other related field.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional experience working in a medical setting.

  • Professional experience in HIV prevention or sexual health education.

  • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g., electronic medical record or data management systems).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

  • Outstanding customer service skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $66,536 - $84,634.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
